Unfaithful honey bees in France.

The marriage between flowers and honey bees has been a long and one full of fruitful (pardon the pun) delights but some lazy and unfaithful bees have been doing the dirty behind the flowers backs in France.

A veteran French beekeeper in Ribeauvile was baffled one day when he went to harvest some of his bee’s honey but instead of the usual golden goodness, he found Blue, Green and even brown honey in the hive.

An investigation leads the French beekeeper to the heart of the bee’s betrayal and to the unlikely cause of the wrong coloured honey. The unfaithful bee’s that should have been visiting their flower “wives” and collecting pollen were instead gorging themselves on sugar waste from the local M&M’s factory.

Blue Honey Anyone?
Blue Honey Anyone?

Unfortunately for the beekeeper’s affected it looks like local regulations won’t allow them to sell the honey and no one is sure whether the general population would be willing to buy blue honey but we are sure some clever marketing company could move the product if it was safe to eat.

The saddest part of this story is who’s going to tell the flowers that their boyfriends have been unfaithful?
