Jonas Salk was perhaps one of the greatest scientists and who ever lived, no scratch that, he is one of the greatest men who ever lived, period.
Not only did his research, persistence and hard work create the cure for polio but he refused to patent his vaccine so it would available to the world at a cheap price.
Forbes magazine estimate that he gave up $7 Billion in royalties for the betterment of humankind.
If only more people could be like this great man today, a true inspiration.
